pendants lights in diningroom and over island

My dining room table is about 6 feet away from our kitchen island. We chose a pendant chandelier fixture for over the dining table and the island has two pot lights and a sky-tube. My husband wants to add another style pendant over the island. I think its too much... input please?

I'd replace the "pot" lights with two complimentary (to the DR fixture) pendants.

Would you be able to center pendants over island? Photo looks like ceiling prevents? Unless you can center pendants over the island, I would leave as is.

Yes, the pendants would be centered but to either side of the skylight. I'm just think all the pendants might be overkill...

The pendant lights you have are kind of busy looking. Adding two more over the island is going to be "too much".

I see your concern about possibly being too busy so close in eye's view. Does your husband find the pot lights not enough lighting for island tasks? I think it looks nice as is. Love to solar tube to get that natural day light.

IMO, it would be too much to add pendants to existing. If you really want pendants, then I would do as Maggie suggested above & remove the pot lights first.
