What color wood would you use for tv entertainment center?

I would like some help on what color to get for my TV unit. I have expresso floating shelves for now as the only dark wood in the living room. I am debating between white or expresso wood for the TV unit. .The couch will be a taupe color and I will be adding 2 chairs down the road along with a new rug and window dressings.. Right now the first thing is the tv unit..I attached the IKEA ones i am considering. It is a very high cathedral wall..Thanks also what does come next, window dressings, couch, rug?

IMO, white would be a good choice. The espresso would make the room too dark. Think "big brown wall". Can you go with a smaller tv unit? One that is just a cabinet underneath?

I would suggest finding a couch you like before getting a rug.

Yes, I would go with the smaller unit indianpatti, there is one that fits a 40 inch tv and smaller bookshelf and curio. This was the only pic i could find for the colors.. ok, couch than rug...thanks!

White. It's the only one that really goes with your room.

I would go with white. It would keep the room bright and airy.

definitely white - the room has a lovely calm, cool look and the white will look fantastic in it.

You have two decisions pulling in different directions. One issue is what color would be best for a room decorating hue and the other issue is a technical one for vision acuity.

Home theater experts demand dark, non-shiny surfaces, especially the border around the monitor (TV).

thank you fancie and calmsea..It took me a few tries and a lot of opinions from houzzers to get the paint color right a few weeks ago.. It is very soothing in my living and dining area, they were all a big help.

Will the Ikea fit in that spot and still give you enough room to walk around the side table and to the windows? I love how fresh and light the paint look! The thing I'm worried about it that the tv unit will make that wall "heavy".

small open bookshelf, smaller tv unit of only 45 inches and a smaller curio are what I have in mind..pic shows the tv console and the smaller bookshelf, other side would have the smaller curio...all in white

I'm thinking the white would look best in that spot. The rest of the room is so bright and cheery, I'm afraid the dark would look like a big black hole on the wall. :)

TVCoverUps
Instead of a bulky piece of furniture that takes away from the space and atmosphere of any room, why not consider TVCoverUps. Framed art(including your own) or mirror adds to the room's decor with the hidden TV and Entertainment Consoles(wires, blu-ray/dvd, Xbox, speakers, cable box, and other consoles) beneath.
See how EASY it really is:
