why the chair?

the chair seems to be uncomfortable, quite odd in the cozy atmosphere.

Hi Rivergyy,

That is a Finn Stone ball chair, and is actually quite comfortable. I wish we had it in lime green! You will also notice that it fits the decorator's "sphere theme"!

Here is a link to Finn Stone to see more on the chair: http://finnstone.com/flash.html

Cheers, James

Love this bedroom! The view is worth a million dollars! Can you please tell me the brand and color of the hardwood flooring?

You indicated looking into European windows and they are competitive. I am building a custom home in the suburb of Atlanta GA. Where to source European windows? Our design features contemporary tall windows. Thanks.

Hi Enchante,

Out of Boston is Yaro Windows and Doors: http://www.yarowindows.com/ I am not sure if they are distributing to Atlanta- but it is worth asking.
I have a Passive House colleague in Virginia who swears by Klearwall- remarking primarily on their reliable service: http://www.klearwall.com/
Intus Windows has great stuff- we are using them for 2 projects- and they have regional reps in your area: http://www.intuswindows.com/
An aluminum composite or aluminum/vinyl option is http://www.schueco.com/web/us/homeowners/windows_and_doors/products/windows/aluminium_windows
And one more great importer is Zola: http://www.zolawindows.com/

All these manufacturers/importers will give you terrific service. I highly recommend having any wood windows or doors be factory finished- as the finishes are permanent and are totally worth paying the very little added cost. Job-site painting is labor intensive, and the results are inferior- a strange custom we hang onto here in the US!

Hope this helps, good luck with your project!
