Odd space in the kitchen

I have this very odd area on the side of my kitchen. It is about 10'x7'. There is already another area very close by for my kitchen/dinning table so there is no sense putting another table and chairs. Right now I have a hutch and a side board for storage. I have also put an accent chair and table so the space doesn't look so long. In the picture you can see that this area is just outside my peninsula as well, so I do not need any more counter space.

I always wonder if I should just build a wall and make the entire space a panty or maybe have a cabinet maker build some pantry space, a desk, etc.

I would like to see if anyone has any other ideas on how to use the space.

Can you rotate the pic so we don't get dizzy trying to analyze the Dilemma?

That area would be great with a window seat or sofa. Use it for casual coffee or reading. If you don't need the dining make the table a low coffee table. I would love to have this extra space so guests can relax and chat while I'm working in the kitchen.

Love the idea of comfy seating - a gathering space. Especially the Mill Valley Gourmet pic.

looks like a perfect spot for built in banquette, but you would need to limit seating to either side of the window, since the sill looks too low to run seating underneath. It would be more like a restaurant booth. Very nice!

Could you use a combo of office and storage - both visible display storage and hidden storage for rarely used items? Some melding of these two ideas with the window in between might work well in that space. Close to kitchen for online recipe hunts, bill paying, grocery listing and for retrieving special serving pieces, etc.

I love the idea of casual seating like the Mill Valley Gourmet kitchen that Dar Eckert posted. But I would ask you - What do you need the most?- storage, office space, seating, reading spot, crafts....etc?

I'd make it into butler pantry!

I like the idea of the butler pantry...will give me lots of storage AND I could do a small bench (with more storage under) directly below the window.
