From kitchen laundry to entertainment counter in minutes

December 25, 2013 in Before & After
I convert my kitchen laundry area to an entertainment counter in minutes by putting all the cleaning supplies, etc into the laundry tub and topping the washer, dryer and tub with an old door, cut to shape and covered with contact paper and adding a holiday skirt. It frees up my kitchen counters and provides space for a bar, coffee service, snacks, etc.

An unbelievably clever use of space! Reminds me of dishing up for dinner parties on a folding ironing board in the kitchen! Yes, I had walls and doors! Hubby's boss didn't see!

Nice! Where do you store the door (countertop) when you reconvert it to laundry room?

Megcblu, it's just a lightweight, hollow-core door and I store it in the garage.

This is a great idea! Reminds me of my mom who used to use and old door to lay on top of the coffee table with a table cloth when people were over for drinks and appetizers in our tiny apartment.
