Both of the suggestions are pretty loud, especially with the granite. I would go for a more subdued pattern with less mix of the colors. Maybe stripes or areas of solid. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Either tile layouts shown in the pictures will work, however, the second one is less contrived and will not compete with the counter top finish; for that reason alone I would choose the second option.

I like the first photo, but I would just place the darker tiles intermittently within the lighter tiles. Keep it random so its not to heavy.

I would keep all the light tiles in a random pattern and just here and there slip in some of the darker tiles for some interest.

are you positive you love these tiles with the granite?

Yes I do. I believe it's a clean look and glass/subway is very popular. Can't do all white because it's to plain and can't be too busy because of the granite. So I'm playing with the colors alil bit. Do you have something in mind?

My monitor is showing that you have green in the backsplash. Does that green tie into something in the kitchen area? For me, it seems like there are too many colors in both versions of the backsplash. JMHO.

It's just a warm tone green. Everything seems so muted so I'm trying to add alil color. Here is another pattern that I think might work best.

The darker tile are just too dark. Too much contrast.....

The granite color seems warmer or more pinkish than the tiles, which seem cooler in the photos - ? Somethings off can't really say what but maybe that's it?

I like your latest design much better. It is a quieter pattern with your granite. I like the colors by the way.

Leslie, the counter where the tiles are laid out has insufficient lighting as the under cabinet lights still need to be installed. I added a picture of the granite under light in the original post. Thanks!

The granite has a lot of movement and variations. I would go with a single color tile.
