Interior Design trying to make Universal Design Home for Project
December 31, 2013
I am trying to create a universally designed craftsman style home. I picked out these bricks for the porch floor and now I'm worried that brick flooring won't be good for wheelchair users. Any suggestions?

The overall design, relative of the structure's orientation to the site, how rooms are oriented to natural light, the travel distances within and around the interior of the home, and the ease with which residents enter and exit the home to grade and into and out of the garage must be the primary concern. Once the design is properly vetted for access, function and practicality, then be concerned about the materials. I wish you well in this noble pursuit. Happy Houzzing.
