Need ideas to give a modern edge to a vintage dining room suit.

I believe the style of the suit is Hepplewhite or Duncan Phyfe. Please....don't tell me to paint it! I know it would look awesome painted...But, I aint gonna do it!! Upholstering the seat of the chairs in a funky fabric....I'll do that....but no paint! It has a dark wood finish, table w/6 chairs, china cabinet, serving table and buffet with a gold leaf mirror...A typical grandma dining room .

I love a modern spin on antique furniture ... having different, bright colored chairs is a great look. Can you post a pic of the furniture?
