I recall a lot of comments to tour earlier post about this living room. Have you finished creating half wall between the living room and dining room that you indicated was started?

Holly, is there any chance you could put the loveseat somewhere else in the house and just keep, the sofa in the LR? Then on that wall behind loveseat, you could do Ikea cubbies with matching baskets/bins to hold kids toys.

I do like your TV cabinet choice - very nice. The white color will keep the room nice and light visually.

With children, a multi-colored rug is best. The first two rugs below are the Savoy Cream rug from Crate & Barrel, and the Punjab Matchstick rug from wayfair. Alternatively, you could go for a chunky jute or jute/wool blend rug for great texture and durability. The one in pic three is the Knobby Loop rug from rugsusa.

Also, rather than a coffee table, you might get better use of your space with a rectangular ottoman. Check Target for some nice looking pieces.

Oh, you mean the toy shelves! I like the .expedit shelves from Ikea in white. Again, visually light, and, will tie in with the white TV stand.

Also,, to make the best use of your small space, you could use a pair of nesting tables on one side of the sofa and move them around to the front of the sofa when needed to set drinks on. Or, you can get "C" tables that are easy to move around where needed. The nesting tables in pic two are from Crate & Barrel, and you can also get them at Pier One. The C tables are also from C&B and Pier One respectively.

Hi Holly, For stylish furniture that won't break the bank, look no further than Ikea. I really like the Ektorp slipcovered sofa. It looks great, comes in very cool colors, and of course you can remove individual seat or back covers and machine wash them. I have one in my den, and it doesn't get heavy use so I can't vouch for kids jumping up and down on it, but it will get you through ten years or so while the kids are growing up.

Any of the four colors below could work with your grey and coral color, scheme. Depending on what color you choose, and which rug you go,with, you can nicely tie all the different colors together with sofa pillows.

Ikea has lots of options besides slipcovered and since this won't be your forever sofa, have fun with color - they even have patterned sofas.
