Are artificial trees out?

We have a spot that an indoor tree would work great in but not sure if artificial trees are a no-no (I personally don't care for artificial plants) or should I get real? How hard are real to maintain?

Good quality ones can be in. I am currently trying to find one as
I don't want a live tree in my house (I'd kill it in no time).

Artificial trees were never in, just because they are widely used does not give them design validity. I don't buy the argument that expensive ones are OK, they're still fake looking dust catchers. Research the size, and light and water requirements before purchasing a real tree and you should be fine.

Yes, artificial trees are out. Real trees are not that expensive. Keep them alive for as long as you can then replace when they look bad. It's still way cheaper than fresh flowers. :)

I think that artificial tree are kind of 80's, and whereas the music is still very much IN the trees are out ;)

Artificial trees and flowers are still in for some of us. Just choose the best quality (they often include a few brown leaf tips etc. for verisimilitude) and dust them regularly. That way, you have no worries about water damage, bugs, or die-off during extended vacations. The live plant folks don't always do the best job dusting, either. ((hurt))

Most real plants will grow under a sunny spot in your house.
