Living room help.
January 16, 2014 in Design Dilemma
We are overhauling our outdated living room. We ripped ugly drop ceiling down and found plaster to be in rough shape so we will be covering ceiling with bead board painted a white/off white of some sort. I just bought the couch shown and found some pillows that I liked but am not locked into these colors. Unsure as to what color to paint walls. I also am looking for chairs or love seat to buy but we have limited space. Our room is 11 x 18 and one whole wall is a brick fireplace. I have a built in shelf (tv is currently covering shelf area temporarily) and large hole (where old tv uses to be) that I am also unsure if what to do with. We are planning on having tv be on opposite wall of brick wall. This makes seating arrangement difficult. Any suggestions in arrangement, colors, ways to make the space look bigger and ideas in General would be appreciated. We will be leaving the carpet for now but would like to put hardwood floors in eventually. Thinking maybe a gray color for walls? Kind of wanted to keep it neutral and lighter because if the dark brick. Also we aren't currently using stove.
