Help for entry/TV room

This room used to be the garage. Now serves as entryway and TV room. It seems cold. TV watching can move to another room but then what to do with this room?

Curtains would add a nice touch to the sliding doors. As would a runner on the table behind the arm chair.
You could stick with cream colors to keep the space looking light.
A flower arrangement, even silk, would also add a nice splash of color and some life to the space.

Can you take better pictures. It is hard to tell what the space looks like.

a few suggestions:
1. warm up the space by getting rid of the cheap grey toned paneling ( use sheetrock) and paint a warm color light to medium not too dark
2. Pick a focal pt wall ex: Tv wall get rid over boxing above TV and recess all the way to ceiling - add some more upscale material to the wall finish on this wall - as a visual anchor- warmth in stone or warm colored grass cloth ( wall paper)
3. Simplify the space if you want a chair rail use the same on all walls
4. avoid dumping the entry traffic directly into the room - consider a wall 7'-8' from the door to ( perpendicular to the door ) and place a entry table and visual above it ( mirror or artwork)
5. The white carpet is not helping and would be better to use a warmer color - perhaps same existing tile put this tile on floor and add a warm colored area rug.
6. All I can do without a scaled floor plan and other imfo. appears lots of things going on - simplify where possible will add comfort and relax the dymanics of the room

I feel your current colors in this room are very heavy. I'm not sure if you want to change the entire color scheme of everything you've got going on here.

The light coming from the lamp in the middle isn't enough to open up the space. I feel like there should be some kind of ceiling lighting.

I agree with Adrian about simplifying. It all depends on how you want yourself and others to experience. How do you want to feel in this space?

I'm going to paste links here to other Houzz discussions, not necessarily for their exact decor but more for the colors they are using to open up a space.

this last one here has darker browns, in case you want to keep with the brown schemes.
