2 or 3 bay garage?
January 23, 2014 in Design Dilemma
I am planning a new house. The maximum width for the garage can only be 28 feet (becsuse of setbsacks and other reasons). Should I make it 2 bays with separate 10 foot doors or 3 bays with an 8 foot door and a 16 or 17 foot door? I really would like opinions. Thank you.

I had the same choice. I opted for 3 bays and it works well and looks good too. It is more flexible in case you ever have something very wide to put in the garage.

Thank you...I have been been debating this issue for over a week and need to move forward on the house plans.

3 bays would allow more flexibility.

True...thanks...I've always had 2 large bays and was concerned how tight it would be for the 2 vehicles in the double section.
