Love the transoms! What is the ceiling height? Header? Transom ht.?

I am trying to determine what transom height I need to go with in my new home. I have 9' ceilings, and the headers are currently at 8', but can be changed.

I think you might be able to make that work, depending on your trim detail.
Here is the situation at this house from my notes:
    Bottom of Transom: 6'10"
    Top of Transom: 8'0"
    Ceiling Height: 9'4"

That is all the information I have, so I hope it helps! Good luck!

Generally, 9 foot ceilings get a 12" transom. If the headers are placed flush to the ceiling plates this always works. Best thing to is measure the height from your finished floor to the header and then subtract 6'10". That will give you the height of transom sash that will fit.

By the way, that transom is similar to our model TR-1, but with extra wide lites. That width would normally have 6 lites, but they did it with 5 for a slightly different look. I Like it! Also their header detail is very good. You can see this model at: http://goo.gl/krtWmb.
