I am painting my cabinets and adding bronzed finish hardware. Can my existing hinges be sprayed with a oil rubbed bronze finish?

The old style exposed hinges are extremely cheap. Unless you have a ton of cabinets, I imagine you can replace them for less than $50.

Thanks Amy, I have priced them. I need 54 hinges. Six of my cabinets are tall and have 3 hinges on them. I did paint my chandelier in the dining room the aged bronze color and is beautiful. My concern with the hinges, opening and closing them every day! :)

I have painted hinges before and have had no problems with the paint peeling or anything. Just make sure they are really clean and use a spray primer 1st-Zinser (I think that is the way to spell it) makes a very good primer that specifically says it works on metal.

I actually went to Loews and bought a can of rustoleum spray paint in rubbed bronze. It worked beautifully! Paint did not rub off. They are very nice and match the pulls that I bought at Loews!
