Hi Houzzers!

This has been my go to spot for design advice. Here is a living room and I'm not sure which furniture layout to choose. Your guidance and feedback is greatly appreciated!!!

Here is the right side. It will only allow me to attach 3 photos at a time.

Chuy - will you post a pic of your living room? I'm interested to see any furniture actually in place in this size room

It is temporary furniture (from my last house) just to check spacing but here it is.

Great place!!!! Wow, your layout is way better! From left to right...I would do sofa (on short wall) two chairs opposite each other (perpendicular to sofa), backless sofa, another set of chairs facing each other, then sofa. Make sense?

I like your backless sofa idea! You mean to locate that where I have the love seat currently? Which wall are you calling the "short wall"?

Hi chuycarrillo, Marie here.
How I approach furnishings is I look at the space and "zone" it into areas of what is going to happen here - is this a conversation pit, reading area, etc. Focal point is tough because you have that gorgeous view, but you also have a fireplace and an open connection to the kitchen-dining area? Space plan carefully - choose your furnishings carefully. The piece of furniture that is open to both rooms needs to be spectacular - maybe a tete or kissing cousins chairs would be more appropriate than a loveseat. Purpose is to entice people to come and sit here, and you want to be able to move in and about the space freely with out hindrance of large furniture pieces. Good Luck with your new home it's gorgeous!

Chuy - the short wall meaning where the black furniture is sitting. Shortest wall.

You can find backless sofas at crate & barrel (that one is really comfy). Any nice furniture place can make it for you too.
