Ideas for doors that are windows to a front or back porch
Wooden Window
January 27, 2014 in Design Dilemma
We helped with a remodel where a southern style door/window, called a slip head or jib head, was used as access to and from the porch. What do you think about using this style door/window in a non-traditional space?

If I understand correctly, I don't think we usually have the room above windows that this requires, although it is lovely and there is definitely something exciting about climbing in and out of windows! (and hello to George Shadow!)

Wooden Window
So true, not often is there the space above. We have also done similar windows that tuck downward , underneath a trap door on the sill-- quite trick.
