Hiding gas meter

I need to move my gas meter outside, but the only location is on the front of my house, where there is a concrete sidewalk. I'm trying to figure out a way to camouflage it, without being so obvious, eg building a box. There is no where for any planting. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I believe there are codes in certain places about hiding meters. So check with your local guidelines. However, if it is allowed, a planter with ornamental grasses would be ideal as the gasman could read the meter, the grasses are pretty hardy and bushy and require little water.

Depending on height of placement, could build box & add shutter front. Easy for gas reading while hidden from view.

There are always used shutters at garage sales, second hand stores, Habitat Re-Stores

I have a pot of plants in front of mine with something high in the middle and lots of other plants , the gasman can read your meter without moving it, he has a handheld gizmo that works to read it .

It has absolutely nothing to do with reading the meter. It is all about working clearance and the lives and safety of personnel required to work on the equipment in case of emergency. If anything is within 3' of the meter and blocking safe working clearances, it is not acceptable. If anything you put near it is not easily movable (all with one simple action and under 50#) then it is unacceptable. Building something permanent around it with doors is unacceptable.
