a few simple ideas: remove everything from the small porch, especially the hose. Make the door central, a cottage charm door., it looks like you have one only it cannot be seen. Paint the door a fun bright color, or black. Improve the depth and width of the steps up porch, which in this picture should be as large or larger than the entrance to the mud room. as one enters this porch, shoes, etc. should be behind the door, with jackets etc. under the windows...replacing the one large window with 2 smaller ones with cute shutters and they could be as high as possible, thus creating more space for dropped jackets, etc. a lot could be added in the way of plants and paths to the small entrance, preferably a porch and path in brick. also the roof line could be heightened but the rest of the house roof needs to be taken under consideration. Do one thing at a time, reevaluate everything constantly, how one thing effects another, etc. again, using your home as a painting, with movement of the eye after each change.
