What did you use to create the soap niche?

I have limited space in my soon to be installed 5' tub, in an alcove. One wall is exterior, the opposite end where the water source is doesn't have much space and the back wall of the alcove my Conteactor is using narrower studs because we're stealing 2" from an adjoining closet. Helpppp!
