Any condensation problem with painted ducts?
February 16, 2014
I've been told to expect problems with condensation if I paint my central air ducts. Have you or anyone else experienced this?

I have experienced condensation but it isn't necessarily due to painting the ducts. It is more of a factor of the humidity levels in the room relative to the temperature of the duct itself. What I am trying to say is that condensation may occur on ductwork if humidity levels are too high in basement. For instance, last summer I opened my basement windows to introduce some fresh air which unbeknownst to be was humid air and in turn produced condensation on the cold duct work. I hope that helps.
