We are replacing the tile countertops and backsplash, 30" gas downdraft cooktop, and sink/faucet in our kitchen with 3cm New Venetian Gold granite countertops with ogee edge, 3x6 ivory travertine subway tile backsplash, an undermount sink, and a 36" Jenn-Air gas SS downdraft cooktop. We put in a SS dishwasher and will eventually replace the microwave and oven.

The cabinets are a creamy white which we like, but I would like some color ideas for the kitchen walls.

The lighting dilemma: There is a plate rack with no light above the cooktop. There are no lights above the breakfast bar. There is a mushroom flush mount light above the sink. The main lighting is a large 2-light fluorescent lightbox.

Any advice on lighting and paint color for the walls will be greatly appreciated!
