kitchen backsplash

I'm redoing my south FL kitchen - removing white laminate cabinets and beige formica counters. Have chosen cherry cabinets in a light cinnamon color with a gorgeous granite in peach with white and grey grain. I want to keep my backsplash simple so it doesn't compete with the granite. Ideas?

So your cabinet color is probably similar to this, correct?

Your granite brings out the pink in the cherry so I would be carefully to stay away from peachy pink tones. Perhaps bring out the gray in your granite with something like this.

Yes - similar cabinet color. Thank you for the glass tiles... what about white?

I think the white would be too stark against all the warm colors you have going on in your kitchen. You would be better off pulling out one of the colors in your granite like the gray mentioned or any of the other colors (except the pink or peach!) How about a larger format subway? This one is 4" x 12". Or go with a back painted glass backsplash in one on the granite colors. Naturally you would have to see the subway glass in your kitchen in the light to see if this tone or similar tones would work. White would not have any connection to either your cabinets or granite I would go with gray glass tile and I would keep the grout the same color as the tile to keep it from looking too busy.

What about clear glass? I'm afraid of darkening the kitchen too much - clear would reflect the under cabinet lighting...

Clear glass will tend to appear green in light.

What about carrying the granite up and making it the backsplash?
All one beautiful material will make your new cabinets pop. With under mount lighting it will be very dramatic.
