    are the post custom steel tubing? How did they attach the the ipe?

    just curious, how did they attach the wood to the square metal posts? is it a fastener that I can't see? perhaps drilling into the pipe? sorry for the simple question.

    The wood is rough cedar and is attached with a self tapping screw in to the steel posts. They are attached on the other side from the image above. Two screws per 4" slat as they meet together in the post. The steel post are not custom, a standard tube steel that is just cut per lengths and then a plastic cap sits snug on the top within the opening, so you cannot see the cap. It has been powder coated a custom color before install.
