We are trying to buy a house with a triangular kitchen. It feels very cramped. Our contractor suggested moving it, but then we will loose the pocket sliding door. We are trying to keep the sink in the same place because it is a lot to move the drain. Please help us with new ideas!

I would say that you could use the current layout and open things up a little bit. I would give up a little bit of storage and make the sink and DW section into a stand alone island. Open the kitchen up by removing the sink / DW wall and create a much more open and usable space. This is a tough space but could function really well if you work it right.

I have done a very quick sketch for you. I think that this would be a quick easy way to keep the basic footprint and open up the kitchen.
