Need help choosing garden flooring

Ella TomsonMarch 2, 2014
Hi, I am looking for a suitable type of flooring for my small London garden. I am trying to recreate something like the photo. I love the colour of this stone but am concerned that over time it will stain and gather dirt. I need something hard wearing and durable. I was thinking maybe setts ? Any ideas really welcomed. The garden gets moderate amounts of light. With a baby and two dogs it needs something to stand the test of time and traffic. Thanks!

Setts are rather small. How about slate?

Hi Ella, I would use sandstone pavers. You can get them as sandstone or reconstituted sanstone...they are mixed with concrete and then there are sanstone colour.. I would go with the traditional sandstone then the reconstitued one.. With will age but look great all the time...all pavers or concrete will ware and age but I think that this looks the most natural. It is also the same colour all the way through so if any should get chipped you will not see another is a natural product... It looks amazing as you can see....With things like slate and clay pavers and things that are a dark colour...they will retain the heat and be not to walk on also...sandstone is my abcolute favorite... hope this helps..Robyn
