I'm really confused..I'm using a table skirt for a round table at a landing on my staircase...does the skirt have to be till the floor or is it ok if some parts of the table legs show?

No legs - skirted tables are quite '80's - are you sure you want to do that?

It really depends on what the legs look like. That said if it is a nice table then why cover it up? If the table is not so pretty then I would use a floor length heavy silk type you see at Calico Corners. Be careful though that it does not start to look like a bedroom side table.

I would have the material go to the floor. It would be quite nice if you were able to cut a piece of wood and make the table top octagon, hexagon, or square even, then you could do a nice box pleated skirt, which looks a little more tailored.
