I find the easiest way to get the light fittings I want at a good price is to avoid the designer brands and take an image of what you like to a local lighting shop. They always have plenty of supplier catalogues from all over the world to sift through and I have never been unable to find a similar type of light to a high end bran (pendant lights are an exception to this rule).

Buying a direct copy of a designer fitting is widespread and is an ethical issue at the end of the day. That being said some major distributors of designer copies actually have agreements in place with the original design house.
