Seamstress for Roman Blinds

dionnedaleyMarch 17, 2014
Hi there,
I'm in Boston, MA and I need a good seamstress to make some roman blinds for my sunroom. I've already purchased the fabric, but need a really good reference for someone local that's not ridiculously expensive. Help?

Try Nancy Iovanni in Somerville. I am not sure she is still working, but she makes the very best window treatments ever.

Thanks a million - you don't have any pictures of the works she's done previously do you?

No, no longer living in Boston, but if she is still working you will not be disappointed. We all used her. She truly does amazing work.

Roman shades are not inexpensive! Be sure whoever makes your shades makes them compliant with the new cord standards.

Manufacturers Romans really should not be as expensive as they are as much is automated. But if buying from an individual or smaller manufacturer, know that the high cost derives from many steps in the process, a lot of labour and attention to detail. Personally, I'd rather pay for that skill than pay too much from a ready-made.
