STAR's cristals are divided in 3 panels that you can detach and put them in the dish washer for a clean shiny view always, also the underfilter is detachable so you can put it in the dishwasher as well!!

As we said it's really simple! The 3 panels of crystals detach with their respective keys that hold them tight in their place. And you just put them in the dishwasher.
Same with the filter, detach and put it in dishwasher.

Does it remove moist from the air?

Because if not, that would be my main reason not to buy a recirculation hood. My home doesn't have airconditioning, so I need my hood to pull out ALL cooking fumes.

It IS pretty - but why is it sooooooooo expensive ?!?!

It does if you fit it with the adequate range, it all depends of the size of your range in order to add the equivalent power of extraction to absorb all the moist from your cooking fumes. If the perimeter of your range exceeds 2X the circumference of the STAR then you would need 2 in order to catch effectively all of the fumes. Also, we always recommend our clients to create a depression in the kitchen by closing all doors and windows, leaving only the range to be the vacuum creator, that way you assure a 95% extraction of all the fumes that go into the filter leaving fresh & clean air in your kitchen!

Just more form over function. Only suitable for those kitchens that see reheating takeout as ''cooking''.

From what I know, recirculation hoods don't remove moist from the air, only particles and grease.

Since you asked, I hate it. It's both ugly and non-functional as any kind of hood.

Sealed doors and windows? Hmm.. I have an old house, with wooden floors and a crawlspace, a woodburner and lots of 'natural ventilation'. And I like to open up doors and windows to let in a fresh breeze whenever I can. So I guess a recirculation hood will never be my thing.

And my stove is 60cm because my entire kitchen is 240cm.

Based on what you tell us, you definitely need a range hood that exhausts the air out from your house, because wood is a material that traps smells and moisture more easily. For a 60cm stove with an island mounting as we guess that's what you need, you should check our chrome model on our website http://www.elica.us/us/us/CHROME2
