Bedding and window help
March 21, 2014 in Design Dilemma
Hello fellow Houzzies!
I need some help with ideas for my bedroom. Specifically bedding and curtains. We have hardwood floors and the original wood trim (the house is a 1922 American Foursquare). This is the rug we have (stock pic of it, the lighter color is more cream in real life then it looks in this photo) and the walls are a brown close to the brown in the rug (Behr Butternut Wood). I don't normally use much brown, as I usually favor Grey and Black, so I need some ideas of what to pair with the wall color and rug. I was thinking perhaps something like this bedding from West Elm, but I would LOVE other ideas and input! My husband is no help.

Hi! Here is a bedding idea for you:

It subtly ties in the gray that you like and is pretty affordable!

Have seen mint green, orange or teal. All look wonderful. Choose a fabric for throw pillows or find a throw for the bed that speaks to you. You can pull your color theme from them. Also, search "brown color bedroom" on Houzz and you will find many ideas.

i really like that bedding from west elm.
and look at how well it goes with the wood tones on the headboard.
it'll look smashing in your room.

what kind of a headboard do you have (if any)?

hmm in that photo the bedding looks very yellow (is it?) and I'm just not a big fan of saturated yellow and dark brown together....reminds me of bodily fluids and stuff... brown with pale yellow is better if you want to use yellow.

Reddish tones would be pretty -
Either one of these in "ginger" would be pretty...

Or blues are always good with brown as well ... this turquoise is nice...||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_--_-

And greens are safe if done in the right tone.

And a few photos for inspiration...
