Yes, the shade is one of those that can either come down from the top, or be pulled up from the bottom. It's perfect for blocking the direct sun light, while still allowing natural light in!

I have never seen one w/ 2 tone colors like that. I wondered if there is something exactly like that that could block from people seeing inside our kitchen. we have a big window & it is uncomfortable. thanks so much for taking the the time to help me out.

Well the gray part is a valence that goes over the window, it's just the white part that is the shade that can go from either direction. I guess it's hard to see the differentiation. Hope that helps!
