Do I add window treatments to this window?

Hi. I have a colonial 1930s Dutch colonial home. I have lots of wood we painted white to freshen up the home. So this window has a shade but no window treatments. Do I need one? Also, looking to change up the staircase. Any railing ideas?

Leave window as is...nice and simple. You have an incredible banister...leave it alone so everyone can see its beautiful lines.

My first thought was a brown and white polka dot curtain to mimic the staircase but since you want to change out the staircase......
I probably would use a light colored bamboo/woven shade for a little more interest.

I understand a woven shade but I love light and woven shades only allow filtered light thru unless they are up...

Window treatments always add warmth and color. In this situation the stairs will have an impact on the options. I would suggest a valance with longer outside edge length perhaps or a fabric roman shade

I agree with staying simple and I like the clean look of the white. Just fine as it is. It's very pretty . Add nothing busy. ….(The stairs look steep. Are they?)

From what I can see, it must be a great looking house--great character.

Just a valance to finish it. Something tailored, like an inverted box pleat

Plantation shutters would be a nice finish but only if you do not plan on opening them for a full view. You could adjust the louvres but not the panels as they'd block your traffic flow

Hi, I think 3 inch half tilt plantation shutters would be really pretty.

HI -- This might be something for your window ........ Wallpaperforwindows.com . As for the stair railing , I like it the way it is , kind of quirky and charming .

I think that leaving the window and not putting any treatments on it is the way to go!
