If you have any more of your backsplash tile, extend it around the window. We did that with our backsplash, and it adds so much personality to the room.

If you can find an interesting mirror, I have had great luck putting them at an angle over a window. It reflects the room, but makes the window look bigger. In my opinion.

Another option is to get a valance from the place you got your cabinets to bridge the cabinets left and right of the window, and then apply the molding to finish off the top of it. I would probably do this over the sink part, and then move the decal you have already to the window you are showing in the picture.

Extending the tile would be very pretty. Bid wood letters that spell EAT. You have a beautiful kitchen.

I am one for fabric treatments myself as they had texture, color and in the case of a fabric shade add sun and privacy protection when needed...I would install a soft fold or flat roman shade and have it installed on both windows at least a foot above each one. Then when they are pulled up they stack on the wall and not the glass :) Janette

They left you room to hang a great curtain over top. Hang it close to the ceiling, 3 inches below, and let it go down just below the top of the window. I would think bright china blue or light blue would be very pretty. Any color would help it cheer up though.
