Silly question about installing an over the range microwave
April 5, 2014
If we have to raise our cabinets to accommodate for an over the range microwave, how does that effect the outside exhaust vent that is already in place for the current hood? will the higher placement of the microwave to the vent holes work or will we have to raise the vent holes for the exhaust?
Thank you

The duck work could be revised to fit existing vents on the exterior.

I am hoping you mean you have to raise the bottom of the cabinet over the stove and not all your cabinets. Call a carpenter see if he can shorten the doors move up the bottom of the cabinet up. Not as hard as it sounds. The hole is normally in cabinet above the hood have the carpenter check if you can use the same hole, if not a new one is needed.
