My boys need to share a big bedroom and I want to create two distinct spaces for each. Room is plain large rectangle. Any ideas other than a bookcase?

If it is a large rectangle there are many ways to divvy up the space.
Of course a book case is the most logical (as you can store books as well)

Here are a couple of interesting ideas off this website, using a hanging panel, a rolling clothes rack or Ikea wardrobe door. DIY information is on the website. http://www.buzzfeed.com/peggy/room-dividers

The other option would be a screen of some sort.
