Mediterranean has completely different characteristics.

I would suggest that you work with the style of the house that you already have rather then changing to to Mediterranean which would require lots of expensive changes.

You can give it a more tropical Colonial look which was popular in the islands colonized by the British and Spanish. By changing out the windows to a more traditional shape, material and type, you can have a more traditional looking house, but with more of an tropical island flair.

You will not have to change the existing building material of brick, siding and stone.

If you want the Mediterranean look, you would want to replace the existing siding with a smooth stucco and the roof would want to be a red Spanish tile. The roof that you have is too steep for a traditional Mediterranean, so it would not look quite right. It would be a lot of expense and I personally don't think it is worth it.

Go for a traditional tropical colonial look and have fun with it.......

Anything is possible . . . it just costs more.

Normally, "Mediterranean style" of house, will adopt this several design elements: lime mud, continuous arcade and arches, clay bricks, blue tiles ,iron doors and Windows.
There must be a style which has a soul.The soul of Mediterranean style, at present more consistent view is "blue romantic feelings, the harmony, the sun is shining and pure natural".

Lambert Dias- thank you. It seems that if I go with a Mediterranean look, there will be way to much cost involved. I have been looking for homes that are similar to mine to get some ideas , but I can't seem to find anything. Any suggestions on where to look ? Also , the first thing we are going to do is change all the windows out. I am interested in Anderson products. Not sure if I should stick the same style , or get something rounded off on the top.
