High wall dilemma.
April 15, 2014 in Design Dilemma
What type of art and lighting would you put in this space? . I have some Japanese ceramics I would like to showcase but need help deciding how and where to put some shelving or niches. Wall length is 3.9m, height is 6.8 ( lower H 3.1m, top H 3.7). Thank you.

This reminds me of a recent Steve Leung design in Geneva.
Keeping with the drama, I would add a series of small lucite shelves and on each one place your ceramics. This is a similar idea but I was looking for a more regular rythm of small square shelves arranged along your upper wall. It can then be viewed from below (creating interesting shadows)

Sorry forgot to post the illustration of blocks - this is not exactly what I mean but I wanted to show you an example of ceramics on blocks..

Belle. Be careful if you are displaying that the items are large enough to be seen. I might just add some interesting moldings and paint them the same color as the wall to add depth and interest. Keep it simple!
