Love white cabinets but not sure my granite will work if I paint...

Want to paint my kitchen cabinets either white or dark...I don't like the natural maple but not sure how the granite will work with them.

A creamy, off-white would go well with your existing floor and countertops.
Don't paint a "pure" or "cool" white.

Your kitchen looks beautiful to me! I don' t think the doors are dated at all. It's a lovely country look and the flooring and countertop work beautifully with it. I think it's the dark paint that's killing the kitchen. I would just install a white subway tile back splash to freshen up the space. Maybe a nice window valance too.

Cynthia, thank you! My husband likes that idea as well. How high up on the wall would you go?

If you love white cabinets, go for it! Just choose a creamy, off-white as mmilos suggested.

I like to use tile lavishy! Go as far as you can. If you send me a wider photo I can be more specific. Ctaylorluce@cogeco.ca

Paint your cabinets. We've been conditioned to not paint over wood. It's really ok.

Here is a great BEFORE and AFTER showing how dramatically painting your cabinets can really work. I do agree with some of the other comments that a creamy white would work with your counters better than a white white. The other thing that you can do is actually change the doors and drawer fronts with a totally new style....the ones you have are very dated...and just paint the cabinet exteriors to match. Contact me if you would like more info on how to do that. Cheers!

I would paint the walls a lighter color and add some cream colored glass subway tile up to the bottom of the cabinets and then I think it will look like a new kitchen add some new stainless handles and knobs. Maybe some modern lighting with LEDs to brighten up the spaceprobably track with lots of heads instead of the pendants Just guessing that part as I can't see the rest of the lighting.
