About the ceiling/roof--

Is the ceiling in the loft the underside of the roof? If so,
what happens to the nails from the roof shingles? If not,
how do you get the look and provide ventilation for the roofing materials? I love this look for my 1920s cottage. Thanks

Hello - There are sleepers with rigid insulation set in above the ceiling beams and decking, so no problem with connections.
