Stellar Gray RES, LLC flooring is a special pour of 5" thick integral colored concrete scored and grouted to appear as large tiles. To get a rustic effect, one must not finish the concrete too well because we also polish the concrete before occupancy with a Carnuba wax of a color that we want to use for patina. The dark or colored wax embeds into the striations in the concrete providing the look of age and patina. The 5" thick provides for thermal properties of retaining and releasing heat and cold thereby introducing thermal lag properties together with our adobe and/or RASTRA walls. The final grouting of the scored joints requires someone that will be diligent in the application. Glue and a proper mix of gout will minimize cracking and having the grout come out over time.
