Need help arranging living room!

Our living room is long and somewhat narrow and also has a lot of doorways. I would like to put a desk underneath the window but with the love seat where it is, I feel like it completely cuts off the other area. The fake tree and nightstand will not be in our living room, just haven't moved it since we've moved in. I love our red rug but I don't know how to decorate with such a bold rug. My husband loves the couches and we are also on a budget so we can't get new ones. Help us out! :(

What color/pattern curtains and pillows? Should I add more colors to the living room?

I would add a couple of pillows and art work on the wall. Remove the wall unit and no curtain.

It looks as if the top of your wall unit comes off. You can just use the bottom, which will be budget-friendly. It will balance your room better visually. I really like your rug color. Add wall art and pillows that have the colors of your carpet and couch, and the carpet will blend in beautifully with your room. I'd add an entry rug in front of your front door too, that has some of the same colors.

I think a small desk will look good behind the couch. If the chair is not too desk-y, it can be pulled around for extra seating. Maybe a parsons chair in the same color as the rug.

The blue plate should go in a different room. Not sure what the dark item is on the wall beside the pass through, it should go elsewhere too. And over your couch, you need a piece of wall art that is 2/3 to 3/4 the size of the couch. Hang it about 6 inches above the back of the couch. Bring in the warm colors of your rug and couch.

The blue plate is a clock! The picture just made it look like that. Also, thetc dark item is three pictures. Just wanted to blur out our faces. Thank you so much for the advice! I'll begin looking for an entry rug and pillows. Also wall art :)

I actually think the rug and the couches and the color of the walls work together but the tv cabinet i think would be better white so the place doesn't look so narrow, an isamu noguchi table or spider table for the coffee table http://www.exclusivemod.com/Sculpt_Coffee_Table_p/ex8009.htm

You could arrange your room with split or mulltiple seating groups. A pair of comfortable chairs with a table between would look nice on the wall with the window behind your loveseat.

Hi! Look like your area is coming together. I understand the dilemma with your husband not wanting to give up the couches! I have been in that boat too! Here are a few throw pillows that will spruce the area up. I would also consider looking into a corner desk (basically is shaped like a v and would fit where your plant is)

    Hope this helps you!
