Garden gnomes!

Ever since I watched Amelie, I've really wanted a garden gnome. Although I'm currently stuck with a balcony, it might be time for a gnome to watch over it.

Do you have a gnome in your garden or anywhere else in your house? Photos are encouraged!

I don't actually have a gnome, but if I did it would be this guy...

Apparently, there was a gnome rebellion after IKEA tried to do away with them.

I think they're cute! But then again, I like gargoyles too.

My grand daughter gave me this one that she named "cutie pie". Every time she visits I make sure that he's traveled to a new spot in my gardens. She loves running around the yard searching for our little friend. She in turn, hides him for me before she leaves. Legend has it that you are to receive them as gifts in order to have the gnome pass his good luck onto your garden.

No gnomes in my garden or on my balcony. I have however, read and re-read a friend's copy of Wil Huygen's beautiful book about them. http://www.amazon.com/Gnomes-Deluxe-Collectors-Wil-Huygen/dp/0810998467

I do plan on buying a lightweight plastic gnome to take with us on our vacation this summer to appear in all the pics....a husband idea ;)) Is there such a thing as an *as seen on tv* gnome?

No knome, just three kids running around the yard. I guess my youngest can be knomeish at times.

Someone should get her otherhalf to take pix of her blowing up the gnome in each location!

OK this is getting weird, so I'm going to mention the Combat Garden Gnomes that an Etsy seller creates...they are hilarious! Personally I wouldn't want one in my garden, but I know a few people who would think they're funny...garden gnome with a flame thrower!? The Etsy seller has sold over 3000 of them, so someone must also have a sick sense of humor.

"Real time gnome updates!" LOL.
At the Houzz Australia office, this little fella just arrived. And he came prepared to water our withering indoor palms.

He urgently needs a name - so we are open to suggestions!
