Do you mean the power burner to the left, mounted at 24" off the floor? It is a Lynx power burner. We usually mount them lower than standard 36" counter height if a client wants to be able to use big pots for cooking in their outdoor kitchen. It places the pot at a safer, more usable height.

What product did you use to line the 3-sided cutout above the lynx burner? is it insulated to protect against III not the high heat of the power burner?

The backsplash around the power burner is soapstone. The entire island is framed in metal, sheathed in Hardie-backer and then finished with cast stone and soapstone counter top and backsplash. Absolutely 100% non-combustible. The railing behind is cement board trim and siding as well.
