Wood interior of A frame. Paint or not??

An A frame cabin built in 1963. Original wood is gorgeous. However, there is also cheap knotty pine paneling in part of the house. It's on a lake, and I would like to spray the entire inside white. Do I dare? Am I "ruining" the wood? Do i leave the A frame beams wood? Please advise!

I would leave the wood as is, and decorate with green and white.

Paint the wall white. - leave the beams natural ;-)
