Was this floor "refinished" this way?
mominmoMarch 7, 2012
I have a "typical" 2 1/4 in. oak Bruce wood floor popular install in the 90's in my kitchen that has faded from sun...looking at perhaps the possibility of having it sanded down and painted like this...might this have been done to this floor?

Yes. This is an old maple floor which had some water stains that were never going to sand out. The finish was completely sanded off, then the floor was taped and painted out in the harlequin pattern, then the painted areas were lightly sanded in order to bring out the worn paint look. Two final coats of clear finish were applied to protect and complete the look. It is not a difficult process, just time consuming. Good luck with your oak floor!
