Window type for window seats

I am looking to get bump-out windows (has more sitting room than a bay window) for window seats on either side of a fireplace in my great room. I heard vinyl windows have an odor to them, so I'm considering wood (Anderson-type) or fiberglass. Any suggestions?

Who told you that vinyl windows have an odor ? I have never heard that ......

Vinyl, wood clad with aluminum or fiberglass are all good products.

Vinyl tend to be less expensive.

Anderson, Pella, Lowe, Marvin, Milgard.........all good products.

Go to some showrooms and shop around.

I think it might just be the cushion in someone's window seat that stinks. I used to just blame it on the dog :)

Go for sliding or French windows.
