How to tie together this great room?

I'd like ideas on how to tie together this living room and dining area. I'm thinking I could use different rugs/rug sizes? And would love ideas on adding a splash of color?

Find some large pictures or other artwork for the walls to add not only color, but visual interest.

Burgundy red or pumpkin orange would look good with your rug and furniture.

Nice armoire--but would you consider repositioning it? It looks strange at an angle to your window.
Because your walls, ceiling, and floor are all bright white, I think you need a really big living room rug so all the white isn't so overwhelming. I'm guessing the rug should have at least some white in it, so it doesn't look so alien from the floor. Or consider painting your walls or ceiling another color, or just a less bright white. The problem might just be in the photograph, though.
You're off to a nice start.

The armoire needs to move. I assume it contains a TV. Can it go to the left of the window? If not, then I suggest replacing it with a media cabinet and putting that and the TV to the left of the window.

Your black window shade is too stark. Replace it with a fabric roman shade in something like a natural linen, or woven wood.

The living room rug really should be large enough to put the front feet of the sofa on. And I'd rather see coordinating rugs rather than identical rugs in different sizes.

I think the green accents look great. Bring some of that green into the dining room. A couple of prints on the back wall in the same color palette as the family photo would tie it all together.

The brown rugs you have don't work at all on the white floor. The earthiness just looks dirty. You need a very pale rug, or you need to go very modern/graphic, white and one or two bright colors, and make it a focal point.

Tie these two spaces together by using two different rugs from the same collection (rugs that are the same color, similar detail) in both areas. The furniture throughout the space are different styles. It may help to switch out the console table and replace it with one that has similar characteristics to the dining room table to create a cohesive look.

Adding color will liven the place up a bit. Don’t be afraid to add a splash of color on the walls, for example a tint of green. You can also install matching pendants light in the center of both spaces to define the area. Address the following problems and you’ll have a harmonious color palette that will tie in your living and dining area.

Hi! I think that you may need different pillows on the couch. I love the LOVE pillow, but the green seems a bit dark. Here are a few ideas for you:
