Seems the new style is white white kitchen trims ext , I love the look of dark stained wood , concerned for resale on a house I'm building ? Any thoughts or should I not be concerned? The look I'm going for is still not finished but it will pull together I'm sure once I'm done

There will always be buyers who prefer stained wood over painted. Go with what you love - it won't affect resale later. Your stain colour is beautiful:) Good luck from Montreal!

That is what is in style now, when you sell dark stained wood may be all the rage. I think beauty sells. Your wood looks to be of very good quality and your room is bright and airy which always appeals. I like the detailing on your island brackets.

With your lovely high beamed ceilings and lots of light, the stained wood will look great. Get what you love and what suits your house, not what you speculate some possible future buyer might love because of some passing trend.

Turbo, who are you building this house for? Yourself or the next owner? Forget the trends. they are created by companies to sell their stuff. Without trends changing so they can sell stuff most of them would go out of business. Build it, paint it, and decorate it the way you want it, not for the next guy.

I agree with the comments here. If you are building the house for YOU, build it FOR YOU! Beautiful spaces always sell - regardless of trends!

I think stained would looks great. I would contrast the counters in a light color.

I like dark stained wood too. I think white is just the trend right now and I wouldn't worry about it. In the south you see lots of dark stained wood. Your house is beautiful btw.

Thank you very much every one , and yes I'm building the house for my self and ya I am building it how I want , I love wood grain and love working with it ! And I'm loving what I have so far the only reason I asked is cuz I have some people saying how much they love the white every thing look , and I do to just wood grain is amazing , also the reason for concern on resale is I will likely live here a while just I do plan on building out of town one day hopefully and resale value is very important to keep in mind with our poor housing market were I'm from ,
Thanks every one good comments that give me lots of reassurance !
cheers. Post pics when is all completed I'm sure

Make the choices YOU love. I know that my new renovated kitchen wouldn't please everybody but I love it. It's MY kitchen - not a copy of somebody else's. BTW, your house will be gorgeous!
