Help with kitchen lighting

May 16, 2014 in Design Dilemma
I am giving my kitchen a big facelift...adding moldings and feet, adding built ins and island, creamy satin finish quartzite counters and white and greige cabinets. I can't decide between two pendants for table..which will impact hardware and island pendants. Thoughts?
Scalloped pendant is rittenhouse by artieriors
Rittenhouse Chandelier, Eggshell, Standard
and the french pleated pendant is Maison French Country White Chandelier.
Maison French Country Antique White 4 Light Island Chandelier

Both look better in person...but are very different styles and I can't decide. My table is a charcoal grey cement top with weathered grey wood base and weathered grey (x backed) bistro chairs. Also Floors were juster stained dark antique brown.

I think French country is getting a wee bit 'tired.' So I think the Maison is just a little too girlie fake french for me. The Rittenhouse is clean and simple, and you won't grow tired of it.

I would go with the first one :-) The second one is a little too busy

Which ones (if either) goes better with the rest of your house (or the house you envision when it is finished)?

They would both work...but I actually forgot to include one more top contender.
This third one is a subtle mix of the two previous lights. I was having trouble adding picture...this is the link: http://www.houzz.com/photos/products/metal-lattice-drum

Your weathered grey dining set with cement top & grey bistro chairs sounds more on the contemporary side. I really like the pendant lights in your link, specifically the one called UTTERMOST 21108 as a contrast / compliment to the grey. HAVE FUN!

choose the hardware first. it is always best to pick the lighting as close to the finish as you can. Is the table in the space yet? may we see the setting perhaps. I am not fond of either fixture. I would lean to the first one, but not sure how it would work with your table.
